AHRS configuration
Select “Configure AHRS…” menu item in the device “General” menu to display the AHRS settings screen. Attitude indicator without navigation indicators will be displayed in the center of the screen. Digit values of pitch and roll angles will be displayed above and on the left of the attitude indicator.
Colored labels of the aircraft pitch and roll angles will be displayed on the top right and on the bottom left of the AHRS indicator. The color of the indicators is defined the following way:
- Green – if the corresponding value is equal to 0˚ or 1˚;
- Yellow – if the corresponding value is less or equal to 5˚;
- Red – if the angle value exceeds 5˚.
If the aircraft pitch and roll angles are within the range of +/- 1˚ (both color indicators are green), then the green LED lights.
The horizontal setting for AHRS
To set zero on AHRS press the button [ I ]. In approx. 6 seconds the AHRS unit will switch to new coordinates system where the aircraft current position will have zero values of pitch and roll and the attitude indicator will display the corresponding position.
Double pressing of the button [ I ] sets a new horizontal for AHRS unit. But for a more accurate setting we recommend to reset the AHRS unit before each of the horizontal setting (please see below).
AHRS unit reset
Attention, we recommend for aerobatic and other highly maneuverable aircrafts to install the AHRS unit in the center of the aircraft mass and on the normal flight axes only. We do not recommend setting the horizontal for AHRS. A modified AHRS unit horizontal may cause incorrectness of information about the aircraft position in space when the roll angle exceeds 175˚ (inverted flight) and the pitch angle exceeds 85˚.
